In-Kind Donations: Needs List
In-Kind donations help us to significantly stretch our limited financial resources.
Equipment
Portable autoclave
Light source – battery powered. For use as a surgery light at dusk or on dark days in tent; needs to be powerful and portable
Head torches – (halogen)
Microscope and storage box
Portable generator
Laptop computer for field record keeping, preparing community handouts,
etc.
(Minimum one USB port)
Medicines/Drugs
Highest Priority:
Atipamezole (Antisedan) - 5 mg/ml vials
Doxapram – 20mg/ml vials
Ketamine – 100mg/ml (50 ml vials) or 50mg/ml vials
Yohimbine ("Reverzine") – S.A.:
2mg/ml or 1.25mg/ml vials
Other Meds:
Xylazine – 20mg/ml (50ml) vials
Atropine sulphate – 1mg/ml or 0.6mg/ml vials or ampoules (vials are more user friendly for field use compared to ampoules)
Pentobarbitone sodium ("Lethabarb")
Antibiotics – Long acting Penicillin or Amoxycillin injectable
(3-4 days action duration) – 100ml vials
Surgical Consumables
Suture Material – ABSORBABLE ONLY!
Polyglycolic acid (preferred) and polydiaxanone:
USP 1, 0, 2/0 and 3/0
Chromic Catgut: sizes USP 1, 0 and 2/0 (Cassettes preferred)
Other absorbable suture material types in small quantities
Cutting suture needles – curved with triangular body
Scalpel blades of sizes 22 and 24
Surgical Instruments
Carmault Curved Artery Forceps
Spay hooks
Towel Clamps
Supplementary Treatments
Tick and flea (parasitic) repellents for topical application (spot-on solutions preferred, such as Advantage, Advantix, Revolution, etc.)
Deworming tablets for dogs (both puppies and adults) and cats
Ivermectin (tablets)
Please contact us at info@tsunami-animal.org for more information and options to get donated items to us. We can also use drugs that are nearing expiration, but not yet expired.
TAPA’s field clinic protocols use a specific list of medications and consumables. Please do not send unlisted items without consultation, as they may be unusable in our protocols. This list will be updated to reflect changing needs.
